This is huge, John:
FIRST: Alabama Republicans asked the Supreme Court to open the door to unchecked racial vote dilution by dismantling Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act.
THEN: The Court reaffirmed the VRA and affirmed a lower court decision holding that Alabama Republicans engaged in unlawful vote dilution.
NOW: Alabama will have to draw a new, fair map before the next election – and many other states could be required to do the same!
Ahead of last November’s elections, our grassroots movement helped secure the fairest congressional maps in a generation. Now, we have the opportunity to advocate for maps that are even fairer before 2024.
