Drag queen story hour would be the least of their concerns.

Friend—We hear it time and time again.

On Fox News, at MAGA rallies, at Proud Boy protests: “Democrats are coming after your kids.” or “Democrats are killing babies.”

I’m sick and tired of children being used as political pawns.

If the GOP truly cared about children…

  • They would have extended the 2020 child tax credit that saw a historic reduction in child poverty.
  • They would have passed common-sense gun control measures like universal background checks, cutting down on the number of school shootings and kids succumbing to gun violence in their homes.
  • They wouldn’t loosen child labor laws for 14- and 15-year olds.
  • They would support paid leave for new parents to give children a healthy start to life.
  • They wouldn’t encourage the harassment and misgendering of cis and trans kids alike (by grown adults).
  • They wouldn’t call to stop feeding infants in the care of the border patrol.

The list goes on and on.

If the GOP truly cared about children, drag queen story hour at the library would be the least of their concerns.

I’m running up against a big deadline at the end of June and need your help. Can you donate just $5 to show how strong this campaign is and how many people want a progressive, community-oriented drag queen in Congress?

Greatly appreciate your support.

Sincerely,

Maebe

About our June 30th fundraising deadline:

Every quarter a political campaign has to release its fundraising numbers, and June 30th is our upcoming end-of-quarter deadline. Current officeholders and advocacy groups look at quarterly fundraising when choosing who to endorse, using money as an indicator of “viability.” In a perfect world we’d have publicly funded elections, but right now a grassroots campaign like ours needs to raise at least $150,000 this quarter to show our strength, get key endorsements, and win. We don’t take any corporate PAC or special interest money, but with your grassroots support, this goal is within reach. Please contribute to Maebe’s campaign before June 30th so we can show the power of bottom-up organizing!
