This is Riley Gaines. I’m a recently graduated collegiate swimmer from the University of Kentucky and a 12-time All-American with 5 SEC titles.
Unfortunately, at the 2022 NCAA Women’s Swimming Championship, I was forced to share a locker room with and compete against Lia Thomas, a biological man. I knew this was wrong. But the real kicker was after I tied with Lia for first, I was told that they had to give the trophy to Lia for “photo purposes.” I’m not willing to be a pawn in somebody else’s woke political agenda.
I have decided to speak out because my experience is not unique. Women and girls across the country are watching biological men and boys take over their competitions. The woke agenda has commandeered women’s sports and threatens fair competition and safety for all female athletes.
John, this madness must end! Luckily, Republicans in Congress are fighting for female athletes like myself, standing against the woke Left’s pseudoscience. The House GOP Majority successfully PASSED a bill that would protect women’s sports for generations to come.
Since I’ve spoken out, I’ve been harassed, held hostage, and assaulted, all for advocating for the protection of women and girls. The woke Left will stop at nothing to silence us. That’s why we need as many signatures as possible to stand against their insanity.
