As we approach our fundraising deadline in one of the most crucial quarters of the year, I wanted to highlight my story, and tell you exactly why I'm running for Congress.

"I just want to help people."

You hear from every politician that they're driven by "service," but it's critical we recognize what that means. For me, it's the same reason I got into medicine; helping others is my purpose.

I'm running for Congress because I believe in a government of the people and the goodness of a Nation that helps hardworking rural families succeed, like my own growing up. I've been surrounded by individuals who believed in the transformative power of service, from my father at the VFW to Eagle Scouts and the charitable work of our church. I was inspired to pursue a career in medicine after seeing the impact that my best friend's father, a family physician, had on his patients' lives. I remember his stories of helping people, how doctors heal, solve problems, complete puzzles, and fix things that are broken - and I knew I wanted to spend my life doing the same. Today, I'm driven by that same desire to help others. Being a representative is more than a job; it's a vocation. I believe in the goodness of effective and efficient government. My family was blessed to be a recipient of programs that helped me achieve the positions that empowered me to help others. America created opportunities throughout my life, now I want to help facilitate opportunities for the people of Michigan's 1st District; I am running for Congress to help rural Michigan thrive. I'm driven to serve because I love my country for its ability to be better and progress. I believe we can all make a difference in that journey, and I want to use my experience and qualifications to help citizens succeed. It's as simple as that. , I've shared with you my policies, my positions, our winning strategy, and how, together, we can create change.
