John,

ExxonMobil and the rest of Big Oil & Gas are not telling you the truth. We know now they’ve misled us for decades. They knew then and know now just how dangerous the use of fossil fuels is to your health and how the use of even more fossil fuels is the primary cause of dangerous climate change.

They purposefully mislead the public into believing that fracked gas is greener than coal. In fact, they are trying to sell us that fracked gas is the “bridge fuel” to more renewable energy — actually, the only thing fracking is a bridge to is climate chaos.1

At a time when climate instability is becoming a threat for millions of communities across our nation and planet, we simply can’t — and we won’t — let the fossil fuel industry push for more fracking. Will you chip in today?

Yes, I’ll donate now to help fund the grassroots campaign against fracking.

New research from our affiliate organization Food and Water Watch clearly shows fracking is intrinsically tied to climate chaos. Fracked gas is mostly comprised of methane, a highly potent greenhouse gas with a climate footprint much worse than coal’s over many years. Increasing fracked gas production will just continue a never-ending cycle, displace clean, renewable energy, and lock in dirty fossil fuel infrastructure for decades.2

Fracking is polluting drinking water sources, making people sick, ruining the air we breathe and destroying local communities.

Only a nationwide ban on fracking and all fossil fuel development, accompanied by a rapid, fair and just transition to 100% renewable energy, will allow us to avert climate chaos. Together, we will overcome the power of Big Oil & Gas money.

Your generous gift will help support the growth of our movement against fracking.

Fracking can be stopped. We’ve done it at the state level, and now it’s time to stop it at the federal level. With support from Food & Water Action and our members, Senators Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Darren Soto (D-FL), have introduced the first-ever federal legislation to ban fracking and the dangerous infrastructure that enables it once and for all.

The Fracking Ban Act (S.3247 / H.R 5857) would immediately halt all new federal permits for fracking and fracking infrastructure, ban fracking within 2,500 feet of homes and schools, and ban fracking nationwide by 2025. The legislation also launches a just transition for the gas industry’s workers.3

The journey will be long before the Fracking Ban Act is signed into law, but I know with your help we can make it happen. You have fought with us at the state and local levels because you know the dangers of fracking. Together, we have banned fracking in Maryland, New York and Washington — with many more states to come — and together, we can ban fracking across the country.

Become a member today. Help us ditch fracking for clean energy. Your donation will fuel our efforts to make fracking a thing of the past!
