Tobacco Nation: A Call to Eliminate Geographic Smoking Disparities in the U.S.
A new report being released by Truth Initiative shows how major geographic smoking disparities are impacting residents of “Tobacco Nation,” a region of 12 states throughout the Midwest and South, leading to smoking prevalence nearly 50 percent higher than the rest of the nation. In fact, a smoker living in Tobacco Nation will smoke, on average, nearly 500 more cigarettes per year than the average smoker elsewhere in the United States. What is causing these disparities? And what can be done to end them moving forward?
Please join us for a webinar on Wednesday, June 28 at 11am ET to take an in-depth look at the topics covered in our new Tobacco Nation report. Key researchers from Truth Initiative’s Schroeder Institute®, including Chief Research Officer Dr. Barbara Schillo, will co-present on the report and its findings and take questions from the audience.
