Friend,
There’s a lot of love going around this Valentine’s Day. Amidst all the chocolates and flowers, we wanted to take the time to share three things that we love and appreciate this February. From pushing back on mandatory minimum sentences to pushing forward marijuana legalization, it’s a busy time at DPA and hard to pick just three. What tops your list?
1. The MORE Act. This is the most sweeping marijuana reform bill ever introduced in Congress. It deschedules marijuana at the federal level, expunges prior marijuana convictions, and establishes a federal tax that would be used to assist the people and communities most harmed by marijuana prohibition with programs like job training, substance use disorder treatment, and marijuana business licensing. 2. Matters of Substance video series. We’ve all heard a lot about drugs and drug policies, but how much of it has been explained accurately, clearly, and concisely? Our new video series breaks down important drug policy concepts in under 60 seconds.Watch and learn in just a minute. Watch Matters of Substance: [link removed]
3. YOU, our supporters. We’re ending this disastrous war and replacing it with just, compassionate drug policies. Supporters like you have helped us enact marijuana legalization, advocate for health-based solutions to the overdose crisis, and fight to end the criminalization of drugs and the people who use them. Thank you!
From all of us at DPA, thank you for being a part of the movement to end this drug war.
