"Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) claiming to promote human rights are among the leading purveyors of “new antisemitism” – often expressed through the vilification of Israel and Zionism, and the exclusion of Israelis and Zionists from the realm of human rights. These NGOs deny the legitimacy of Israel, regardless of borders; negate Jewish connections to the land; and promote campaigns to reverse Jewish self-determination. A common theme is that Israel is uniquely evil – equated at times to Nazi Germany, inherently racist, and irredeemable. Through their exploitation of human rights discourse, these NGOs are often shielded from criticism of their antisemitism, and governments, particularly in Europe, continue to fund them.”

—Yona Schiffmiller Director of Research, NGO Monitor House Committee on Foreign Affairs June 22, 2023, hearing on “Responding to Anti-Semitism and Anti-Israel Bias in the UN, Palestinian Authority, and NGO Community

To what degree is antisemitism an inherent part of the ideology of the Palestinian Authority? Is the Palestinian antisemitism that we hear so frequently about coming from isolated, random remarks, or is it propagated from the top down? Is it only found in the Islamist fundamentalist groups such as Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, or is this an integral part of Fatah and the PA?

Here to answer these questions is Itamar Marcus, Director of Palestinian Media Watch (PMW)

About Our Speaker: Itamar Marcus, founder and director of Palestinian Media Watch, for over 20 years has researched the Palestinian Authority (PA) world, and has written hundreds of reports and articles on PA activities, statements, education, sports, culture and other frameworks the PA controls, as it relates to the peace process. Marcus was appointed by the Israel Government in 1999 to represent Israel in negotiations with the PA on incitement in the “Trilateral Anti Incitement Committee,” chaired by the United States. Marcus makes regular presentations to legislators, governments, and other decision makers about the PA, as it works with politicians across the political spectrum. Marcus has made numerous presentations to members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Congress and gave testimony at a hearing in the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health, Human Services, and Education. In 2023, Marcus had met with and or made presentation to members of parliaments from, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Spain and the European Parliament. His book Deception, Betraying the Peace Process was acclaimed by the founder of Human Rights Watch, Robert Bernstein, as “one of the most important books you handle in your lives.”
