We just had two MAJOR election wins in Virginia last week. The impact of Tuesday’s primary election results cannot be understated. Our coalition just got stronger at the most important time possible with two incredible victories for pro-choice Democratic mamas. 

Lashresce Aird defeated the only anti-choice member of the Democratic Senate Caucus in a landslide victory. Now, she’s onto November and is poised to become the next State Senator for Virginia’s 13th District. This is a critical victory for the reproductive justice movement.

Jennifer Carroll Foy won the Democratic nomination in Virginia’s 33rd state Senate District and is in a strong position to win the general election in November. When elected to the Senate, she will fight to retain abortion rights in Virginia and push for a ban on assault weapons.

These monumental victories are hard proof of how YOUR grassroots dollars have a tangible impact on critical issues like abortion. And with this past weekend being the first anniversary of the devastating SCOTUS decision that overturned Roe v. Wade, these wins are an especially important reminder of just how much your support truly matters.

Abortion rights in Virginia and in states across the country hang in the balance, and we MUST elect pro-choice candidates who will fight back to protect abortion access.
