MONDAY E'NEWS MCRGO Summer Board Meeting Summary Held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 12,029 current members, a 0.2% increase from March 2023 MCRGO's cyber insurance is renewed. MCRGO is moving to a new D&O insurance provider in July. Board election applications are due by July 1, 2023. The notarization requirement for Board applications is removed. Consequently, Board applications may now be emailed rather than sent through USPS. Website redevelopment is tabled until the fall. $9,000 is appropriated to Legally Armed in Detroit for ammunition for its late July annual women's shooting event. Ask an Attorney questions that are used as Monday E'News FAQs will be compensated to the authoring attorney at a double rate. MCRGO will purchase an interactive Multi-Target Training Simulator (i-MTTS) for the winter outdoor shows and debut it at the September Fall Firearms Festival and December Annual Meeting. MCRGO will move to a double size booth space at Outdoorama & the Ultimate Sports Show beginning in 2024 to accommodate the i-MTTS. The Board was provided with a confidential update on legal strategy and legal fundraising. MCRGO reaffirms its support of permitless concealed carry. MCRGO opposes HB 4358. MCRGO supports HB 4429. MCRGO opposes HB 4455. First Northern Michigan Picnic a Success MCRGO and its allied gun groups put on their first northern Michigan joint picnic this past weekend at Northland Sportsmen's Club at Gaylord under the organizational structure of the Michigan House of Representatives Second Amendment Caucus. We hoped for 80 members at the event and had a turnout of 90-100. We had excellent weather for the pistol and rifle events. Thank you to everyone who attended, the club's leadership and volunteers, the range safety officers, and the attorneys who participated in the Q&A panel along with Rep. Phil Green (R-Millington), Rep. Ken Borton (R-Gaylord), and Rep. Dave Martin (R-Davison).
