Ever since I announced my run in 2022, I have been unwavering in my commitment to run in 2024 and you are the reason why. Because of you, we created something special last year, a grassroots movement, a community united in the knowledge that this beautiful state deserves better. Idaho deserves a representative who will fight to restore civility, dignity, and common sense in the halls of Congress.
As a first time candidate last cycle, our campaign relied on the support of hardworking, concerned Idahoans who have felt the impact from two decades of unchecked far right leadership. I couldn’t be more grateful that our message resonated with so many people, from republicans to democrats and everyone in between who has felt isolated and defeated by our politics.
I am thrilled to officially announce that I am building our campaign for 2024 to once again challenge Russ Fulcher for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Russ Fulcher has consistently chosen the Freedom Caucus and his hyper partisan politics over the people of Idaho. He did so when he signed the Amicus Brief to overturn the 2020 election, when he disrupted a confidential SCIF hearing with Madison Cawthorne, when he rushed metal detectors and capitol police days after the January 6th Insurrection and took photos with insurrectionists, when he celebrated outside of Boise’s recently closed Planned Parenthood and supported draconian trigger laws, when he voted against the Violence Against Women Act, the CHIPS Act, the Respect for Marriage Act, the Speak Out Act, and the PACT Act along with several bills supporting veterans. Fulcher and the Freedom Caucus, the Idaho Freedom Foundation, and extremist groups have taken the focus away from you and the issues that matter. We are building a campaign that will bring the focus back to you and the issues you care about.
I am writing to you today to show you how I am going to do just that. An effective campaign has a strong foundation, a foundation built with committed citizens brought together by a common purpose, who will reach across the aisle, and go where others have not. To date, my campaign and I have pulled together an all-star team of supporters and volunteers from across this state and our nation who are committed to:
1.) My progressive evidence-based policy agenda
2.) The challenge of being a Democrat in a red state using long term campaign strategies
3.) Reaching rural communities who have been woefully neglected
We are engaging with national organizations to attract new interest and resources while finding new avenues for fundraising that have been unavailable to Idaho candidates and causes. I have already begun traveling our district and connecting with voters and there is a tangible energy, a renewed momentum for our values, and our message. This campaign has always represented bringing Idahoans together, combatting divisive rhetoric and finding common purpose. Demonstrating unity at this point in our history is paramount and it is my North Star.
