On Friday, Adam and I had to call his 81-year-old father.
Lauren Boebert had just attacked him because he is a retired OB-GYN who provided women with access to all kinds of reproductive health care, including abortions... And because his son (and my husband), Adam Frisch, is currently running for Congress against her.
After Boebert’s attacks, Fox News decided to publish my father-in-law’s full name and his personal information for anyone wanting to see it, referring to him as an “abortionist.” And my first question was: Do we need to worry about his safety?
It’s hard to explain what it’s like to tell your father-in-law that a member of Congress is attacking him – and that he might need to take precautions because of Lauren Boebert and Fox News’ recklessness.
My father-in-law’s response was, unfortunately, not surprising: “What else is new? We’ve been dealing with this for decades.”
This is what people hate about politics. And this is why Adam decided to run against Lauren Boebert in the first place.
These attacks aren’t going to make Adam or our family back down from standing up for what we believe in. They’re just a failed attempt by Boebert to distract people from her extreme views on women’s freedom to salvage her flailing campaign. Because last year, we came just 546 votes short of defeating Boebert in what was the closest race in the country. And in 2024, Adam is going to finish the job.
But if these are the ugly attacks that we’re up against 18 months before Election Day, Adam is going to need to raise a lot of money to hold Boebert accountable and win.
We got out-spent by millions and millions of dollars last year by Lauren Boebert and her Super PAC allies, and we just barely lost. But with your help now, I know that Adam will defeat Boebert in 2024.
