John, I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished over the course of my career as a trauma surgeon, but one year ago today was one of the proudest moments of my life. On June 25, 2022, President Joe Biden signed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the most significant gun safety legislation passed in nearly three decades. John, as a trauma surgeon, I’ve treated too many victims of gun violence with the knowledge that soon after I repaired their wounds, they would head back into a world of gun violence. Federal action to promote gun safety was a victory I had worked hard to achieve. Along with a coalition of legislators on both sides of the aisle, I contributed to the bill and witnessed firsthand how meaningful, comprehensive change is possible when our leaders put people over politics and take bold action. My time on Capitol Hill was transformative. The experience of generating a policy idea, meeting with constituents, prepping for hearings, and drafting a bill changed how I view the legislative process. I knew then that creating policies to create life-saving change was my next call to service. I know what it takes to craft and pass critical legislation that will help solve the issues our country is facing – because I’ve done so. I’m ready to continue this work in Congress for TX-32, but I can’t get there without your help. Will you help me fight for life-saving measures like the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act in Congress by supporting my campaign with $32, $50, or whatever you can give today?
Onward, Brian
