[link removed] [[link removed]] You’ve heard me say as Minnesota’s chief elections officer that I’m in the democracy business. That means I literally make it my business to defend democracy, protect the freedom to vote, and lead with the truth.
For me, that mission is deeply personal .
From my great-grandfather, who escaped persecution in Eastern Europe and came to America looking for the freedoms we cherish, to my dad who suffered from Parkinson’s Disease and struggled to exercise his own freedom later in life.
Every generation has a responsibility to sustain and strengthen the freedom that millions of people have sought and found here. I’m proud of the work we’ve done to protect democracy and expand voting rights here in Minnesota.
