If we fall short, there’s no plan B.

Friend,
It seems hardly a day goes by without some news outlet announcing layoffs or shutting down entirely—many of them backed by major corporate investors or billionaire funders.
Common Dreams has never had any big angel investors or corporate backers, and that’s a key reason we’ve survived while so many others have come and gone.
As a nonprofit news outlet, our model and team culture are entirely different. We’re not trying to turn a quick profit. Making our common dreams come true will require long-term fights over decades, so we’re in it for the long haul.
However, let’s be clear: Our entire model collapses when you, our readers, begin to take us for granted or stop donating to make our work possible.
Six days ago, we launched our Mid-Year Campaign to raise the money we need to keep operating in the coming weeks and months. If you’re receiving this email, you haven’t donated yet to this campaign.
So we’re asking you today—with increasing urgency, as our deadline is approaching quickly—to donate to our Mid-Year Campaign and keep Common Dreams alive.
If we fall short, there’s no plan B. We’re counting on you.
