URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Cruise ship pollution pushing endangered orcas toward extinction! Act now to help SAVE orcas!
Only 73 Southern Resident orcas remain after the tragic deaths of Cappuccino and Marina! Cappuccino was one of the most memorable orcas in his pod, with checkmark-shaped saddle patches and a notch in his tall dorsal fin. Marina was known for being the most prolific matriarch in her pod, with many researchers often referring to her as “the grandma whale.” Now, both are gone.
We could be among the last generation to share the Earth with these beautiful creatures. The three main threats to their survival -- food shortage, chemical pollution, and ship disturbances -- are ALL caused by corporate cruise companies! Friend, will you take immediate action to regulate cruise pollution and protect endangered orcas? >>
Imagine being a mama whale, swimming through calm marine waters with your calf when a loud noise approaches. The mechanical sound gets louder and louder, heading right for you and your baby. This is what orcas hear when cruise corporations send their titanic ships through these habitats. Sometimes, the ships can even STRIKE and KILL the whales.
These ships also drive away Chinook salmon that Southern Resident orcas rely on to feed themselves and their babies. It’s no wonder why some orcas have STARVED TO DEATH.
Greedy cruise companies have shown they care more about their bottom line than this endangered species. That’s why we need YOU to send a message to the EPA asking it to regulate cruise ships. We need 1,383 more people to sign before 11:59 pm TONIGHT to hit our goal! Please, Friend, help rein in greedy cruise companies and save orcas!
Standing with you,
Marcie Keever
