John,
Sara reached out yesterday about the Roe anniversary, and I'm reaching out to reiterate: electing progressive champions NOW in the 94,000 races on the ballot in 2023 will set us up for long-term success in 2024 and beyond.
We don’t want to slow our work. Because we cannot stop our fight.
Before Dobbs, less than 15% of people lived more than one hour’s drive from the nearest abortion facility, according to a study from researchers affiliated with Boston University, which compared population distribution with the locations of abortion clinics nationwide.
Three months after the Dobbs decision, that number had more than doubled, to 33%.
We're supporting leaders who confront this injustice head-on in communities across the country.
John, in honor of the first anniversary of the overturning of Roe v. Wade, please contribute to our Prochoice Candidate Fund and help us elect prochoice champions who can fight the decimation of abortion access across the South and Midwest.
Thank you so much for your support, we need your help now more than ever.

John,
Today marks an awful anniversary. One year ago, when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, we knew that the outcome would be catastrophic for millions of people across the country. And indeed, to date, 20 states have already passed some sort of major abortion ban or restriction, with more on the way. We’re with you in shared grief today, and most days, as we continue the fight ahead.
And while these terrible bans were predictable — two important additional truths remain:
- This is a prochoice country. We see the proof over and over again. There is not a single state where abortion bans are popular. We are the majority, and we overwhelmingly agree that reproductive medical decisions should be made freely without government interference.
- Prochoice champions — in city halls, state houses, and everywhere in between — are stepping up in historic ways, ready to fight for reproductive freedom and body autonomy.
This is why our work is more critical than ever before. At #VOTEPROCHOICE, we create resources to empower prochoice voters to make a difference at the ballot box, as well as endorsing and supporting candidates running for office at every level of government.
Because abortion rights can’t wait until 2024.
If you’re able, please consider rushing a donation to our Prochoice Candidate Fund in honor of the first anniversary of the end of Roe v. Wade. Your contributions allow us to continue the critical work of supporting emerging leaders — an overwhelming majority of whom are women and/or people of color.
Critical elections are happening this year, and prochoice champions need our help.
We continue to see a shocking lack of meaningful investment in local and state-level strategies — we should be scaling up for November, instead of being forced to cut back.
Invest in state and local prochoice champions in honor of the first anniversary of Roe being overturned.
We need your partnership now more than ever, and we so appreciate your support.
Thank you so much,
