Dear Friend,

Membership Month has taken off here at the American Air Museum in Britain!

All this month, the American Air Museum is celebrating our members who make
possible our work to remember and celebrate the valiant American airmen and
women who have flown from Britain since World War I, including the 30,000 who
paid the ultimate price during World War II.

As part of this special event, a generous member is matching all Membership
Month gifts, dollar-for-dollar, up to our $5,000 goal!

Friend, you have shown you are committed to the museum’s
educational and memorial mission. That’s why I hope I can count on you to help
us reach our $5,000 Membership Month goal before the June 30 deadline.

Please confirm your Membership Month support by joining the museum with a
generous contribution today. It will go TWICE as far to support the museum’s
educational and memorial mission.

Your Membership Month gift will go twice as far to help the museum share the
stories of brave airmen like Lieutenant Colonel Huie Lamb. Huie flew 61 combat
missions during World War II with the 82nd Fighter Squadron and shot down
multiple enemy aircraft.

On December 29, 1944, Huie had to ditch his P-51 in the English Channel after it
caught fire due to heavy flak. Luckily, his wingman saw his plane go down and
led a “Supermarine walrus,” an amphibious biplane used by the British Air
Rescue, to the crash site. They pulled Huie from the freezing waters, and he
survived with only minor injuries.

In 2013, Huie visited Duxford Air Base and shared his stories with the staff and
historians of the museum. Following his visit, he sent us the many photographs
he had taken during the war. He had safeguarded these photos for 70 years, and
now we are privileged to do the same.

The support of friends like you allows the American Air Museum to collect and
share the stories of real-life heroes like Huie Lamb.

From maintaining our collection of rare American military aircraft to our
interactive archive of stories, photographs, and memories of men and women whose
lives have been shaped by American airpower over a century of war, our work
simply isn’t possible without you.

Please don’t miss this opportunity to DOUBLE your impact at the museum. Your Membership Month contribution will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, to
ensure that those who put their lives on the line to protect our own are never
forgotten.
