Friends – one year ago today, the Supreme Court overturned nearly 50 years of precedent and struck down Roe v. Wade, a huge blow to our freedoms and an affront to our democracy.

It also made America more unequal and women’s health more insecure – now, where you live and how big your bank account is determines your access to reproductive health services.

As a CEO, I knew I needed to act. And I did so right away:

You see, actions have consequences. The Dobbs ruling wasn’t an accident, and it wasn’t about states' rights. It was part of a fifty-year effort of the Republican Party to rob women of their rights. From George W. Bush to John McCain to Donald Trump, Republican presidential candidates told us exactly what they would do: appoint Supreme Court justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade and push for a Constitutional amendment to ban abortion.

My opponent, David Schweikert, has made opposing reproductive rights a core issue of his candidacy: He wants to make abortion illegal with no exceptions for rape or incest and has supported an abortion ban in Arizona. He has also repeatedly sought to restrict access to birth control: voting against the Right to Contraception Act and repeatedly voting to defund Planned Parenthood.

The overwhelming majority of Arizonans and Americans agree that abortion should be safe and legal. In a well-functioning democracy, that would mean abortion would still be safe and legal today. But sadly, that isn’t the case.

In Congress, I’ll take action. I’ll support the Women's Health Protection Act to re-establish a nationwide right to access abortion care throughout the United States.

But I need you to take action, too. My first FEC fundraising deadline is in just 6 days. This is the most important fundraising deadline of my entire campaign.

After June 30, everyone from pundits to David Schweikert will be able to see exactly how much I raised, and we need to show we have the resources needed to win this race. Will you chip in $3, $33, $330, or whatever you can afford right now?

Thank you for your support,

Andrei
