One year ago today the Supreme Court gutted the right of women to decide what’s best for their health, their bodies, and their lives, by overturning the constitutionally-protected right to abortion.

Immediately, far-right Republicans introduced legislation to ban and criminalize reproductive care. I want to be clear: New Mexico remains a safe haven for patients seeking abortions.

Right now, reproductive rights are up to each individual state. Unfortunately, far-right extremists in Congress are trying to overrule New Mexico and force a NATIONAL abortion ban.

In Congress, I’ve stood up to their extremism and repeatedly voted NO on anti-choice legislation. I've also cosponsored the Women's Health Protection Act which would restore the right to access abortion care nationwide. I believe that decision should always be between a patient and their doctor — not politicians — and the majority of my constituents agree.

While I’m a guaranteed pro-choice vote in Congress, my seat is in danger.

I’m running for re-election in a TOSS UP race against Yvette Herrell, who supports a total abortion ban. John, can you rush a donation ahead of our June 30 End-of-Quarter fundraising deadline to help me win re-election and keep standing up for the freedom to choose?
