John, Since last year, 14 states have effectively banned abortion and several others have enacted laws and timelines so restrictive that they deny abortion access at 6 weeks, before most people even know they’re pregnant. As a result, providers across the country have all reported a significant increase in the number of out-of-state patients, some of which are traveling up to 670 miles to receive health care — including to California. John, one year after this devastating decision, I’m asking that you contribute what you can to your local abortion fund. Abortion funds are support groups who help patients pay for their appointment, or help with the logistical cost of travel, housing, and childcare. Please, contribute what you can to help patients across the country access reproductive health care today. 100% of your donation through this email will go to the National Network of Abortion Funds.
I’m running for Senate because we are up against a radical and partisan Supreme Court hellbent on forcing a social agenda on a country that does not want it. In fact, data shows that abortion bans are deeply unpopular across the nation. But there is hope. In the last year, we have seen millions of advocates mobilize to protect reproductive freedom. From Kansas to South Carolina, the work of passionate and dedicated activists has helped defeat right-wing attacks on abortion access. John, it is vital that in Congress we stand up to these extreme right-wing assaults on our freedoms. Here is what we must do:
This is an issue that affects all of us. When a country starts losing its rights, it starts losing its democracy. Access to abortion care is about human rights and fundamental freedoms. Together, we can rebuild the legal safeguards for reproductive rights. — Adam
