John, I just stepped off the stage with Vice President Harris, where we marked one year since the right-wing Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade

When the constitutional right to abortion access was overturned, we immediately anticipated that anti-choice Republicans would target North Carolinians’ reproductive health care access.

And, unfortunately, we were right.

Your zip code should not determine your constitutional rights — but radical GOP legislators defied the will of the majority of North Carolinians by placing cruel restrictions on abortion rights without any medical justification. Meanwhile, burdensome and unnecessary requirements for health care providers are aimed at making it more difficult for them to operate.

This is a difficult time, John. But we keep up the fight in the courts, in the halls of the legislature, and at the ballot box — and I’m counting on you to continue the fight with me now.

The radical right thinks they are winning — and they want to turn their 12 week abortion ban they just passed into a total ban if they are successful in the next elections. They think we will give up but we have to prove them wrong.

Restoring abortion care access and preventing further attacks on our fundamental rights will come down to our success at the ballot box. I’m determined to work to elect Democrats who we can trust to fight to restore reproductive rights.
