Today marks the one year anniversary of the Dobbs decision. It’s a stark reminder of what’s on the line this November. As the last southern state with abortion access, folks across the nation are looking for Virginia to ensure that we protect this fundamental right for not just our Commonwealth, but our neighbors as well.
My Republican opponent has said, “Overturning Roe v. Wade was the right thing to do. This decision should have always been made by the states and now it will be.”
I’m proud that women in Virginia still have access to crucial medical care, including abortion, while our southern neighbors have been moving backwards. But I worry about how long that will remain true if the well-funded GOP political machine succeeds in taking back the majority in our State Senate this November.
