Can you believe, John, it's already been a year?

The Supreme Court’s decision last year in Dobbs v. Jackson overturned our constitutional basis for abortion protections. It was a massive blow to our reproductive freedoms.

Without federal protections, Republican legislatures have seized this opportunity to restrict abortion. Right here in Ohio, they passed one of the most restrictive abortion bills in the country, putting the lives of countless women at risk.

Women saw this for what it was, a blatant overreach by the GOP to restrict our rights. In the 2022 midterms, women fought back and defeated the GOP’s predicted red wave. But, John, Ohio Republicans haven’t learned anything and are still coming after our rights.

Ohio Republicans are working to undermine a reproductive rights amendment to the state constitution. GOP-controlled states around the country are still working to restrict our rights. We need federal action to stop the GOP’s attacks.

In the year since Roe was overturned, we’ve seen firsthand why federal abortion protections are so important. Will you sign my petition demanding that Congress act to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act, codifying reproductive rights into federal law?
