Dear friend,
On this day one year ago, the Supreme Court released its formal decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. A decision that effectively overturned the landmark law of Roe v. Wade, which protected every individual’s reproductive freedom for nearly 50 years.
In its aftermath, abortion bans came down in extremist-packed state legislatures across the country and millions of Americans were left without access to reproductive care. At the time, we knew this decision was possible, so we teamed up with voters in Michigan and Vermont to run some of the first-ever ballot measure campaigns to preserve access to abortion.
And we won. In the 2022 November midterms, voters in 5 states decisively took action to preserve their access to reproductive health care. And now 10 states remain where we’re committed to doing everything we can to help voters pass policies to do the very same.
Ohio, Florida, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Montana, Missouri, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, and Arizona. ALL places where ballot measures could be used to strike down existing bans and protect abortion access in each state for good.
So now, 1 year after the devastating Dobbs ruling, we’re gearing up for the fights ahead. Six of these states are serious possibilities for 2023 and 2024 campaigns, but raising the funds we need to kickstart these campaigns is urgent.
If you’re with us as we work to restore abortion access across the country, will you rush a donation of $25 or whatever you can afford to power our next slate of abortion ballot measure campaigns, friend?
