This is why it’s important we continue to talk about these important issues that affect the future of our families. As the mother of a teenage daughter who is only a few short years away from starting her college search, this is supposed to be an exciting, hopeful time. But now there are some states and schools that cannot be in consideration for her in this post-Dobbs world. As a mother, I want to keep my daughter safe, and I am angry that she does not have the same protections that we as women have had for the past 50 years.
Today’s anniversary is part of why I stepped up to run for office. If elected, I would be the first Democrat from Hunterdon County to be elected to the state legislature in over 40 years, and I’d fight against any efforts to erode reproductive freedom.
It is critical that we protect and elect pro-choice allies to the New Jersey state legislature. Because while New Jersey has a strong track record of protecting reproductive healthcare, we know our opponents will stop at nothing to undo our progress.
It’s all hands on deck to protect and expand reproductive rights in New Jersey and elect the right leaders to the state legislature to protect against extremism. Let’s elect Democrats up and down the ballot to ensure that, at least in New Jersey, our reproductive freedoms remain protected.
