One year ago today, an ideologically-driven Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and stripped millions of Americans of their constitutional right to choose.

And today, one year later, it couldn’t be more clear that the Supreme Court’s ruling last June was only just the beginning of the unprecedented assaults on our bodily autonomy and reproductive freedoms.

To say this decision was devastating would be an understatement.

Over the last year, we’ve seen draconian abortion bans enacted in dozens of states across the country. We’ve seen women and young girls travel hours across state lines to receive urgent abortion care. And worst of all, we’ve seen women’s lives jeopardized — and, in some cases, lost — due to their inability to receive a life-saving abortion in their home state.

The implications of the Dobbs decision stretch far beyond matters of government control — this is a matter of life or death.

And yet, the extreme, out-of-touch Republicans controlling the House are still floating the idea of using their Majority to pass a nationwide abortion ban.

The last year has only underscored the importance of re-establishing a Democratic, pro-choice Majority to codify Roe and stop these assaults on reproductive freedoms. But we can’t do that without you, John. I hope you’ll consider chipping in to my re-election campaign to keep me in the fight for reproductive justice for all.
