Today marks one year since Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court. Since the decision, we’ve seen a confusing and shifting patchwork of statewide abortion policies, putting the health and livelihood of women all around our country at risk – including here in Virginia, where Republicans are trying to ban abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

While I’m still outraged and disappointed by SCOTUS’ decision, I’m not going to wait and hope for the best. I’m channeling this anger every day in the Senate, sponsoring legislation to protect women traveling to another state to access care and protecting safe, trusted, and necessary abortion medication.

But the real key to safeguarding a woman’s right to choose? Expanding our Democratic Senate majority next year.
