Thousands of new lease sales and project expansions on the doorstep of our nation's most iconic national parks threaten to scar and pollute these incomparable wild places–Rocky Mountain National Park, Carlsbad Caverns, and Grand Teton National Park, to name a few.


You and countless past Sierra Club members fought hard to permanently protect 439 national parks and monuments so that wildlife and humans alike have a respite from the industrialized world.

Big Oil's burgeoning operations are trashing parks across the country…


Rising ozone levels in Carlsbad Caverns and Rocky Mountain National Park now exceed national safety standards. Meanwhile, new proposed drilling near Grand Teton National Park would decimate critical wildlife corridors for species struggling to survive.


But it's not just Big Oil's destruction of irreplaceable natural treasures. Fossil fuel drilling on public lands fuels a QUARTER of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions.


Protecting public lands would preserve the health of our wild places and finally slow the destructive march toward climate catastrophe. Why are we allowing our wild treasures to be sacrificed in the name of profit while wildlife and nature lovers pay the price?
