Every so often, our communities share a collective moment of consciousness.

Where were you when the Seahawks won the Super Bowl in 2014? Or a much more sobering example, where were you when millions of people faced losing their bodily autonomy on this day last year?

On June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court overturned a half century precedent to strip federal constitutional protection for abortion rights, but it doesn’t mean our fight stopped there.

Congress has the power to codify abortion rights once and for all, but the only path forward is with a Democratic majority. As we remember this day, I hope you will consider making a donation to keep up our fight. >>> [link removed]

I often think about the words I shared with you last year, so I’ll share them with you again below. Thank you for standing up for our rights.

Today , the final decision from the Supreme Court of the United States was released overturning a half-century guarantee of federal constitutional protection of abortion rights.

I know many of us are still processing this news, but one thing remains clear for me: Abortion is a right - regardless of this decision, regardless of state implemented trigger laws. If the Court won't stand up for our rights then we need to make sure our government does.

Last month's failed Senate vote showed that we will need more pro-choice members in the Senate and the House to codify Roe. That is why this election is so important.

This decision doesn't just affect our healthcare choices, this also threatens the privacy and personal information of millions of women across the country. This includes internet search data on reproductive healthcare, menstrual tracking and other health apps, and even medical visit history. This data can now be purchased and abused to target women seeking abortion and other reproductive health services, as well as pose serious repercussions for medical professionals providing these services.

Women should be in charge of their bodies and their personal information, NOT politicians.

We need to codify the protections of Roe v. Wade , we need to pass strong national consumer data privacy standards to protect our health data, and we can't afford to wait. We must all stand up for our fundamental rights to women's health care and privacy. We must elect a pro-choice majority in November.

Thank you,

Suzan
