When George Floyd was horrifically murdered by police, the nation erupted in fury and it seemed like we were finally moving toward progress.
But reform stalled. And here’s why we need to act now:
The New York Times: “An investigation by the Justice Department found systemic abuses by the police that “made what happened to George Floyd possible,” the attorney general said.”
The Attorney General’s newly released report detailed “racist and unconstitutional policing.”
We must capitalize on this renewed momentum to revive the Justice in Policing Act and prevent more abuses of power that lead to injuries and death.
