Congress should also fight Biden’s politicization of the Department of Defense and National Defense Authorization Act through its pro-abortion policies.
Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin turned the Department of Defense (DoD) into an abortion travel agency by declaring in a memo last fall that it will fund paid time off and travel for service members to receive abortions. Unfortunately, when the House Armed Services Committee marked up the annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) this week – legislation which authorizes policy for the DoD – it did not include important language to rescind Biden’s abortion travel memo.

The NDAA is now expected to move to the House Floor for consideration after the July 4th recess and offers another opportunity for Congress to do the right thing. Members in the House must protect the unborn and preserve the integrity of our national defense by offering and supporting an amendment on the Floor to overturn this attempt by the Biden administration to circumvent the law and facilitate taxpayer funded abortions.
