Dear John,
It has been a year since the Supreme Court set our country back decades with its horrible decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization .
The decision's impact on everyone who accesses an abortion, including LGBTQ+ people, has been profound. It has reminded us that the fight for equality is ongoing and that our rights are never guaranteed.
We know that our work is strongest when we center on those most impacted and when we realize that our struggles are shared. Queer and trans people have abortions, and bodily autonomy is a human right. This year, 90% of our state partners worked on reproductive rights legislation.
With increased attention on states' legislative efforts, it’s time to redouble our efforts to build progressive, intersectional networks and infrastructure across communities. Donate now to support the capacity of state-based LGBTQ+ organizations nationwide fighting for our shared future. [[link removed]]
So far, in 2023, we have fought over 559 anti-LGBTQ+ bills nationwide. Many of these bills directly target the rights of trans people to bodily autonomy.
All of us who value bodily autonomy are facing down a common enemy: an increasingly out of touch and extremist faction that, guided by white supremacy and authoritarianism, is hellbent on maintaining their last grasp on power. This year, more than ever, we must unite as a community to ensure that the Dobbs decision and these anti-trans laws don’t define our future. We have made tremendous progress, but the road ahead remains steep, and we cannot afford to let our guard down.
Donate today [[link removed]] and share our campaign with friends, family, and social networks. Every dollar counts and will have a lasting impact on the lives of LGBTQ+ individuals nationwide. After you donate to Equality Federation, please consider matching that gift with a donation to your closest participating state partner.
Thank you for your unwavering support. Together, we will build a future where justice and joy prevail.
United,
