One year ago, the Supreme Court officially overturned
Roe v. Wade, wiping out almost fifty years of legal precedent and jeopardizing the health and safety of millions of Americans.
Looking back on that dark day, I’m just as furious and disappointed as I was when the news first broke. But I am also hopeful and optimistic – in the year since
Dobbs, North Carolinians and Americans everywhere sprung into action to make it clear that they do not support abortion bans.
We’ve organized, marched, and voted dangerous extremists out of office – and we’re not letting up now. Will you sign our petition to send a clear message that we remain committed to restoring and defending reproductive rights for all?

In the wake of last summer’s
Dobbs decision, over a dozen states have enacted dangerous laws severely restricting or outright banning abortions. And here in North Carolina just last month, the Republican-controlled General Assembly overrode Governor Roy Cooper’s veto on a 12-week abortion ban.
Republicans have once again shown their hand and made it clear that they only have one priority: controlling our bodies.
Instead of our state being a beacon in the South for women all across the country to make decisions for themselves, Republicans have weaponized health care to gain power. I promise you, we will not – cannot – let them win.
Join me in sending a clear message to anti-abortion extremists: We won’t stop fighting until all Americans have full equality under the law, and all women have control over their bodies and reproductive health decisions.
Thank you for making your voice heard on this important issue.
Onward,
Deborah
