President Biden and extreme Far Left Democrats' open border policies have incentivized a historic surge in illegal immigration at our Southern and Northern borders, turning every community into a border community and every state into a border state. 
 
Now, extreme Democrats are using elementary and secondary school facilities to provide shelter for these illegal immigrants. Hosting illegal immigrants on school campuses poses a significant safety risk to school children and compromises schools' ability to secure their campuses. 

This week, House Republicans passed H.Res 461, which condemns using elementary and secondary school facilities to provide shelter for illegal aliens who are not admitted to the United States. 

In May 2023, as part of an effort to deal with the massive influx of migrants, New York City's Mayor Eric Adams announced his plan to house illegal immigrants in public school gyms in May 2023. 

While public outcry ultimately put a stop to this school takeover, a dangerous precedent has been set, and other cities are reportedly looking at putting similar plans into action, such as Chicago.

Schools should focus on providing the best opportunities to their students, who are already suffering from post-pandemic learning loss, not removing their access to safe physical education and extracurricular activities.

This week, Hunter Biden's lawyers and the Department of Justice reached a sweetheart deal. The first thing – it’s clear from all of this – if there was ever any doubt whether or not there is a different standard of justice if your last name is Biden versus Trump, this surely shows it. You know, millions of dollars in unreported income and filing false application on a gun form, and you get a slap on the wrist, and then you look at what they're trying to do to President Trump. Completely different application of justice. 

This two-tiered justice system has no place in the United States.

It was a busy week on Capitol Hill. I started the week off with a hearing on the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology titled "Oversight of the Federal Communications." The Chairwoman and three Commissioners from the Federal Communications Commission testified under oath. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) connects Americans to reliable, affordable broadband services. In recent years, the commission has distributed tens of billions of taxpayer dollars toward closing the digital divide.

Then I had another hearing on the Environment, Manufacturing, and Critical Materials Subcommittee titled "Driving Affordability: Preserving People's Freedom to Buy Affordable Vehicles and Fuel." Americans need affordable, reliable transportation to work, take their children to school, go to the doctor, and live their lives. We shouldn't limit people's choices and access to reliable, affordable transportation fuels and vehicles.

Team Weber participated in a series of impactful events within the District this week. The 44th Annual Al Edwards' Juneteenth Celebration beautifully reenacted the arrival of federal troops in Galveston on June 19, 1865, liberating enslaved individuals two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Furthermore, a joint ribbon-cutting ceremony united the Nederland Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Bureau with the Port Neches Chamber of Commerce, celebrating the launch of Fresh Prep—an innovative meal preparation service offering clean and healthy options. Then they attended a retirement party for Police Chief Gary Ratliff, hosted by the League City Police Department, acknowledged his remarkable 38 years of service. We presented him with a certificate and flag. And finally, they attended the 2023 Brazoria County Hurricane Preparedness Exposition, an event that empowered citizens with essential information and resources for hurricane readiness. These events showcased unity, resilience, and community support, leaving a lasting impact on all involved.

• Do not rely on a last-minute appointment.
• Plan around the current processing times.

Apply as soon as possible:

• We recommend to apply 4-6 months in advance of travel.
• Save $60 by applying for routine service and reduce last minute planning stress.

Check your expiration date:

• Some countries require that your passport be valid at least six months beyond the dates of your trip.

Wait times

• It may take up to two weeks after applying before your application is " In Process".
• Routine applications take 10-13 weeks and expedited applications 7-9 weeks.

Check Status online

• The online tool (passportstatus.state.gov) provides the same info as the call center.
