John,
Expanding the electorate is essential for our future — and the GOP is catching on.
This week, the news broke that the former Governor of Arizona and Chair of the Republican Governors Association is turning the efforts of a billionaire’s million-dollar PAC to finding and registering “voters who are willing to fight for free enterprise.”
They can use whatever euphemisms they want, but the truth is plain to see. This is simply a million-dollar effort to counter the efforts of organizations like ours who work tirelessly to empower our nation’s historically neglected and disenfranchised communities to make their voices heard.
No amount of dark money the GOP can conjure up will overcome the will of the people if every youth, immigrant, Black, Indigenous, and other people of color cast their ballot for a government that serves all of us. Until that day, million-dollar organizations like this are a serious threat to our democracy. Will you rush $10 right now to help us expand the electorate and fight back against billionaires who want to destroy our democracy to pad their profit margins?
