Washington, D.C. - I hope everyone is staying cool and doing what they can to escape this heat! On Monday, we celebrated Juneteenth! After returning to D.C. on Tuesday, my colleagues and I hit the ground running to continue delivering pragmatic solutions to help American families.

I have heard from countless North Texas small business owners who are frustrated by the rising cost of healthcare plans, which often don’t fit the company’s needs. On Wednesday, I voted for the CHOICE Arrangement Act, which will increase flexibility for small business owners.

Later that day, I joined Rep. Andy Barr (KY-06) in introducing a new piece of legislation that will help protect our retirement accounts by fighting back against Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) investing practices! Many left-wing asset managers and investment advisors have chosen to put environmental and social goals over delivering financial returns for their clients. This is all part of an attempt to cripple our country's oil and gas industry.

Wednesday evening, I voted to condemn Rep. Adam Schiff for misleading the American people and abusing his power as Chairman of the Intelligence Committee to promote the Russia hoax. His conduct deserves a thorough investigation by the Ethics Committee and this vote offers a step toward accountability for the countless lies Schiff told the American people.

On Thursday, my Republican colleagues on the Ways and Means Committee and I voted to publicly release IRS whistleblower testimony with damning accusations about how the DoJ, US Attorneys, FBI, and career bureaucrats obstructed, delayed, and prevented full investigation and prosecution of Hunter Biden for his mass tax evasion efforts.

You can watch our press conference here.

In between committee work and votes this week, I had the chance to meet with North Texans from the restaurant industry yesterday to discuss workforce challenges and solutions. Thanks for stopping by our D.C. office, I’m excited to hopefully work a shift at your restaurants soon!

Texas-24 Work of the Week

This week, my Ways and Means Committee colleagues and I voted to release transcripts of two IRS whistleblower interviews conducted earlier this year.

We have publicly released these documents so the American people can read the information for themselves. It is clear to me that a corrupt and utterly politicized Department of Justice acted more like political henchmen for the Biden family rather than serving the American people as non-partisan law enforcement officials.

A reckoning is coming for the DoJ, the FBI, the IRS, and all those who continue to abuse their roles to weaponize these agencies against the American people while serving as the Praetorian guard for a privileged, wealthy, liberal class in our country.

Texas-24 Hometown Hero

This week’s Texas-24 Hometown Hero is Coppell High School Student, Akshat Athale. Akshat was recently awarded The Congressional Award for his work. The Congressional Award recognizes initiative, service, and achievement in America’s youth. He also previously served as a member of our Congressional Youth Advisory Council.

I commend Akshat on his hard work and passion for providing these communities with access to financial literacy education, and thank him for the positive impact he's had on our North Texas community.
