John: Access to reproductive care is still at risk in South Carolina.
The decision to block South Carolina Republicans’ new and extreme abortion ban means critical reproductive care will remain legal and accessible in our state -- but only temporarily . Now, the legal challenge heads to the South Carolina Supreme Court to decide the future of reproductive rights in our state.
South Carolina’s abortion ban is one of many that has passed since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade one year ago this month. Since that decision, 14 states have enacted abortion bans and restrictions that disproportionately impact women of color and low-income communities.
For 50 years, Roe gave women the right to make their own decisions about their health and bodies, but in the past year, we’ve seen those rights systematically reversed in states across the country.
Democrats are working to restore the right to choose in South Carolina and across the country, but if we’re going to make Roe the law of the land again, then we need everyone in this fight -- including you, John.
Will you add your name to mine and show your support for restoring access to reproductive care in South Carolina and across the country? [[link removed]]
