Tomorrow is a tough day, folks. It marks one full year since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and stripped away the right to choose.
In the aftermath of their decision, Republican lawmakers rushed to pass abortion bans — despite voters across the country making it clear that they support reproductive freedom.
It has been hard to see basic rights get rolled back across the country, including here in Arizona. But there's been a lot of reason for hope as well.
In conservative states like Kentucky and Kansas, ballot measures to ban abortion failed to pass by popular vote. In Minnesota and Michigan, residents elected Democratic majorities who then codified abortion protections into state law. And here in AZ-06, we saw an incredible turnout of voters supporting abortion rights on Election Day.
Last year, my opponent celebrated when the Supreme Court overturned Roe. In Congress, he's voted to restrict mifepristone, a common abortion pill, nationwide. He may run away from questions about abortion [[link removed]] , but his anti-choice stance is all too clear.
Like the majority of Americans, I believe that politicians have no place in our intimate medical decisions. And I will fight nonstop in the House to protect our abortion rights.
A year ago, we lost the right to choose. But a year from now, we have a chance to take back control of Congress and protect reproductive rights nationwide.
Winning this seat will be central to taking back the House. Last year, my campaign was outspent 6:1 — and we still came within 1% of winning. Will you make sure we can win in 2024 and fight for reproductive rights across the country by chipping in now? [[link removed]]
