On why fighting the culture wars matter:"When they're trying to inject matters of gender ideology into a kindergarten or first-grade classroom, just understand that is a culture war. But that's a culture war being waged by the left against parents and kids. All we're doing in Florida is having the temerity to fight back to protect the integrity of the education for our kids, to protect parents’ rights, to be able to send their kid to school, and have the school focus on the basics, and not teach a young kid that they can change their gender or that they were born in the wrong body." — Gov. On combatting the CCP: "You know, when China was put into the World Trade Organization, and granted most favored nation status almost 25 years ago, we were told by DC elites that this would make China more free, more democratic, it'd make the world better. He now has grand ambitions, not just in the Pacific, but even in our own hemisphere. And we see news where China is going to be working with Cuba to establish eavesdropping, maybe a military outpost, that's a huge, huge threat to this country. So yes, we need to declare independence from China economically. And we need to make sure that we have the ability to project the appropriate strength in the
Pacific to work with our allies to deter China. China understands the language of strength. And I think what Joe Biden has done since his first day in office, he's projected weakness. A lot of bad actors around the world see that. And that really whets their appetite to be able to do things that are going to be very harmful for the world." — Gov. Ron DeSantis
On Florida vs California: "Even though we're only 60% of the size of California we have New--more business formations here. We have way less tax, way less debt, we have one of the lowest tax and debt burdens in the entire country. We have led amongst all big states since COVID. And economic growth, our unemployment rates 2.6%, California's is over 4%...It's a beautiful state, great topography, all kinds of diversity in terms of the different communities you can live in. And yet they never lost population until their current governor took office. Now they're hemorrhaging wealth. Now they're hemorrhaging population because you see things like what I saw the other day in San Francisco. I saw people defecating on the sidewalk. I saw people in an open-air drug market using fentanyl. I saw them using crack
cocaine. I had police officers come over and shake my hand and thank me for what we're doing in Florida because they wish that they had a commitment to law and order in the state of California and in San Francisco. So, we can cite all the statistics. People vote with their feet. And if someone picks up and moves 2500 miles across the country, from California to Florida, that's a major statement." — Gov. A native Floridian with blue-collar roots, Ron was raised in Dunedin by his mother, a nurse, and father, who installed cable boxes. He attended Dunedin High School and worked his way through Yale University, where he was the captain of the varsity baseball team. He also graduated with honors from Harvard Law School, where he earned a commission in the U.S. Navy as a JAG officer.
During his active-duty service, Ron deployed to Iraq in support of the SEAL mission in Fallujah, Ramadi and the rest of Al Anbar province. His military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Service and the Iraq Campaign Medal.
Ron also served as a prosecutor in Florida, where he put child predators behind bars. He was elected to Congress in 2012 on a platform of government accountability, advocating for term limits and a balanced budget amendment.
In Congress, DeSantis spearheaded the fight to expose the weaponization of the IRS against conservatives. He also fought to hold accountable the rogue federal agencies involved in manufacturing the “Russia collusion” conspiracy theory. As a veteran, DeSantis was a champion for those who have served our country, pushing for reforms to the VA to better serve veterans and expand support for mental health.
In 2018, Ron DeSantis was elected the 46th Governor of Florida. As governor, he has fought for what’s right and taken the arrows for the people he represents. During the darkest days of 2020, when the corrupt establishment, bureaucracy, and corporate media united to force lockdowns and mandates on Americans, DeSantis stood up for freedom – even when it wasn’t popular.

After leading Florida with common sense and conviction throughout his first term, DeSantis delivered a record-setting victory of nearly 20 points in 2022. He earned his second term by the largest raw vote margin in state history, winning by more than 1.5 million votes.
But history didn’t stop there:
Governor DeSantis flipped Miami-Dade County red, winning the majority-Hispanic urban county by double digits. Conventional wisdom assumed this was impossible for a Republican – as recently as 2016, Hillary Clinton won Miami-Dade County by nearly 30 points.
Governor DeSantis flipped several other blue counties red, including Palm Beach County. He won 62 out of 67 counties overall.
Compared to his first statewide election in 2018, Governor DeSantis was up +19% with Independents, up +30% with Hispanics, and up +9% with women.
Governor DeSantis delivered a record-setting victory with battle-tested leadership, a bold policy agenda, and never backing down to corporate media or special interests. As he said at his inauguration: “When the world lost its mind – when common sense suddenly became an uncommon virtue – Florida was a refuge of sanity, a citadel of freedom for our fellow Americans and even for people around the world.
