John,

Everywhere I go, in all 10 counties across Virginia's 7th district, I ask my constituents what issue is most pressing to them. Do you know what they say?

Healthcare.

For some families, the cost of necessary medications, like insulin, can put an enormous strain on the family budget. Other families are burdened by the rising costs of insurance premiums. And for seniors, common medication costs have grown ten times faster than the rate of inflation.

In December, with bipartisan support, the House passed a comprehensive package of healthcare legislation. I was proud to co-sponsor H.R. 3, the Lower Drug Costs Now Act, which would compel Medicare and Medicaid to negotiate drug costs, including insulin. This bill will not solve our healthcare crisis, but it’s a step in the right direction.

John, our values are on the line this election. No matter the consequence, I will always fight for the best interest of Central Virginia families. I believe that we have an obligation to look out for those who are most vulnerable. I believe that in a nation as powerful as the United States, no one should die because they can’t afford vital medications. And I believe that we can work on comprehensive solutions to some of our biggest challenges by working together to find lasting solutions.

If you agree, please consider a contribution to my re-election campaign.
