John,
I grew up as the son of two educators in Mobile, Alabama. My father was the first president of Bishop State Community College, and my mother was a librarian. From a young age, they instilled in me the value of service.
After going to college and earning my law degree, I served my country in the United States Army at Fort Benning. Then I ran for the Georgia House of Representatives, the Georgia Senate, and then to represent Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives — all so that I could serve my community further.
In a battleground state like Georgia, we’re going to be up against voter suppression laws and GOP dark money — so I’m doing everything I can to protect my district. That’s why I’m humbly asking if you can support my campaign before our end-of-quarter deadline that’s just a week away.
Our campaign needs your help to continue the hard work of creating safer communities, a stronger economy, a cleaner environment, and more support for working families. I have seen firsthand the progress we’ve made, but I know our work is far from finished — especially with Republicans vying to roll back our hard-fought progress.
