John, this is downright cruel:

Governor Greg Gianforte just kicked 11,000 Montanans off of Medicaid!

He took critical health care coverage away from thousands of low-wage workers across Montana, simply because of “red tape.”

We believe our leaders should do everything in their power to increase access to affordable health care, not take it away. And John, we need you to make your voice heard.

Nearly one in four Montanans get their health insurance through Medicaid. In April, Gianforte started redetermining who is eligible for Medicaid – but only notified Montanans by mail when they were about to be kicked off their health care.

Lower income families, many of whom rely on Medicaid, are more likely to move frequently, so when they didn’t receive their mail notice or respond to it in time, Gianforte just kicked them off Medicaid.

And experts say under Greg Gianforte’s leadership, the number of Montanans who will lose their health coverage is only going to increase.

It’s not right, John. And as Montana Democrats, we will not stop fighting until we’ve made it easier for Montanans to get the health care they need.
