I didn't grow up in a fenceline community or a sacrifice zone. I didn't grow up feeling the same effects marginalized communities experience. But even with my tremendous privilege, I still feel the effects of carbon pollution—because we all do.
Whether it's because of climate-fueled wildfires, heatwaves, or droughts, the urgency of the climate crisis is always top of mind.
That's why, last week, I chose to testify alongside fellow Evergreen staff and climate advocates on EPA's climate pollution standards for power plants.
The Biden administration must strengthen these rules to meet our science-based climate goals—and there's still time to have your voice heard, too.

To protect all of our communities, EPA has an obligation to strengthen these standards and propose further rules that create environmental safeguards and monitoring standards at smokestacks and CO2 storage sites, which directly impact fenceline communities.
While climate change represents the greatest challenge of our time, I'm in this line of work because I believe that there are clear, actionable solutions to build a better world for my generation and beyond. By calling on EPA to strengthen its rules on pollution from power plants, we can protect our communities from deadly climate pollution.
