Overreach On Overdrive 🚘
The government is at it again, folks. The overreach continues, and this time,
they’re coming for your car!
President Biden and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are moving full
speed ahead with lofty goals in the name of climate activism. By slapping some
of the strictest auto pollution limits on our cars, their hope is that67% of
new vehicles
<[link removed]> are
all-electric by 2032.
We’re not stupid, Mr. President. Americans are aware that you’re on a mission
to wipe out gas-powered vehicles altogether. There’s a reason why electric
vehicle manufacturers absurdly say the new guidelinesdon’t go far enough
<[link removed]>
.
This is nothing but another Big Government power trip. The average American
family can’t afford an electric vehicle; paying upwards of $60,000
<[link removed]>
for a car is tomfoolery. Plus, the new regulations put the auto industry in a
chokehold, making it difficult to do business.
These top-down mandates are unconstitutional.
Americans have a right to choose how they get from point A to point B, and I
will continue to fight to get our government back to where it should be—working
for us, not against us. Just recently, I received the “Champion of Limited
Government” award from the Institute ofLegislative Analysis (ILA)
<[link removed]>, an honor I’m truly proud of.
Hard-working families shouldn’t be forced to pay more taxes to be more
regulated by a bunch of Washington bureaucrats. I promise to continue to vote
in a way that puts more power inyour hands.

Congratulations to the Hardin Valley AeroHAWKS!
The AeroHAWKS Team 1 won first place at the American Rocketry Challenge
<[link removed]>
, which means they qualified to represent America at the International Rocketry
Challenge in Paris, France this month. Even after their rocket misfired at the
start of the competition, they were able to pull off a successful mission.
The AeroHAWKS Team 2 landed in 10th place in the U.S. competition, helping the
teams earn a combined $20,000 in prize money.
This group of standout students was also invited to participate in NASA’s
Student Launch initiative, a “research-based, competitive, experiential
exploration activity.”
I’d like to send the AeroHAWKS my sincerest congratulations and good luck in
all your future endeavors, including the international competition. You’re
making East Tennessee and the entire nation proud.
