Iowa Starting Line: 'Steve King today: “There’s really no rights that women don’t have that men have.”
John,
Today, the House of Representatives moved one step closer to ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment.
Not only did Steve King vote NO on this resolution, but he justified his decision by saying, “There’s really no rights that women don’t have that men have.”
Here are the facts, Steve: In 2020, a white woman earns 79 cents for every dollar a man earns. A Hispanic woman earns only 54 cents for that dollar. Women still face pregnancy discrimination that forces them out of the workplace. Their rights to make their own healthcare decisions are still up for debate, and they continue to face sexual harassment, exploitation, and violence.
It's clear Steve King only values women for their ability to give birth. He couldn't be more wrong; women are essential to the success of our state and our country. We won't stop working until women have full legal and lived equality under the law.
Today he’s proved (once again) that he is unfit for office. He doesn’t represent us -- it’s time for a change. Make a donation right now and help us defeat Steve King.

We need to stand up for women’s rights and for each and every one of the 380,000 women and girls in Iowa’s 4th district.
