The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has published in the Federal Register a notice of proposed rulemaking proposing requirements for commercial mobile service providers that have elected to participate in the Wireless Emergency Alert system (WEA) to make WEA more accessible to people who speak languages other than English and Spanish and people with disabilities who cannot access messages displayed in conventional formats.  They are taking comments now, but the deadline is July 21st.  The Federal Register pages are attached below.  if this is important to you, please see the Federal Register for the proposed changes and make your comments following the directions given.

In today's Federal Register the National Institutes of Health posted a Request for Information (RFI) on the National Institute on Deafness and other Communication disorders (NICDC) request for input on research direction to support communication in minimally verbal/non-speaking people.  The Federal Register's pages are attached below.  The deadline for comments is August 1, 2023. You can read the information on their request and make comments through the portal as directed.
