Nottingham City Libraries have an exciting programme of events across the summer. Our popular reading challenge in partnership with the Reading Agency is back.
We challenge children to read 6 books anytime from 8 July until September. Earn stickers, rewards, a medal and a certificate on completion.
Join us and take part in our programme of activities with something happening in every city library, every week in August. From craft and Lego to magicians, poets, artists and more!

We are launching Ready Set Read with an event at Clifton Library on 8 July, 10am to 12.30pm in partnership with the University of Nottingham, City Arts and Lakeside Arts.
- Learn how the heart works and create beautiful artwork for you to take home.
- Find out more about our Summer Reading Challenge, sign up, play games and more in the library
- Free - no need to book.
Come along and discover the HeART project - where amazing science collides with beautiful art that children can create to take home and also help to build a special HeART book for the new Nottingham Central Library.
Are you a teacher looking for activities for your children over the summer?
We have a special zoom assembly happening in July as well as images and text for newsletters available for you to download.

Anyone can be lonely and we’ve all felt the effects of isolation with the recent pandemic.
Connecting with others is vital to our wellbeing and there are lots of opportunities in libraries to do just that, from Totstimes to Knitting Groups, Reading Groups to Games Clubs as well as volunteering opportunities.
