One year ago, the nightmare scenario happened: Roe v. Wade was overturned. And the stakes in our work to elect more Democratic pro-choice women got so. much. higher.
The moment the decision came down, we launched an emergency Fight Back Fund, raising over $500,000 in three days to help elect and reelect women like Gov. Katie Hobbs (AZ), Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (NV), Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03), and many more in some of last year's toughest races.
Today, at the end of our first year without Roe, we're re-launching the Fight Back Fund, with a goal of raising $150,000 to help support pro-choice candidates in this early stage of the 2023-24 election cycle. And I'll tell you what, John: We're going to run this fund again every single year until our rights are restored.
So in order to stay on track, hit this goal, and help elect as many Democratic pro-choice women as possible, we're calling on all of our supporters to step up. I took a look at our numbers since the Dobbs decision, and this is what I have for you:
