John --

The other day, we came into work only to discover the power was out in our office. That's when we noticed this:

Our power line was cut.

That’s right -- someone literally cut the power line to our Chicago office with five weeks to go in this election. Now, maybe that’s just a remarkable stroke of bad luck. But … when you’re up against machine politics in Chicago, “bad luck” tends to find you a lot.

From the start, we’ve known that our opponent and his allies are willing to do whatever it takes to get the upper hand in this election.

But we refuse to let dirty tricks shut this team down. We rented a generator, a volunteer brought in photography lights, and we got right back to work.

The truth is, we need to be ready for anything that could come our way: cut power lines, nasty whisper campaigns, volunteer intimidation … you name it. And we’re counting on supporters like you to help us stay one step ahead.

Make a donation right now to our rapid response efforts -- to help fund portable generators or anything else we’ll need to fight back when the other side plays dirty:

If they’re coming after us like this, that must mean we’ve got them feeling pretty nervous. Let’s keep it up.

From a laptop being powered by a rented generator, thank you!

Ben
